Stan Brod — Designer, Artist, Educator

Who Was Stan Brod

Stan Brod was a graphic design professor at the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning for over fifty years, retiring at the age of 80. Mr Brod also taught communication and exhibition design at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. He was a principal designer with the internationally known design office of Lipson Alport Glass & Associates (LAGA).  

As a young man, Stan was determined to be a designer, at a time when graphic design was almost unknown. He borrowed money from his uncles to attend the University of Cincinnati, DAAP. Over the many years of his career he thrived as a design educator, artist and graphic designer. Stan's passion for art and design was a driving force in his life.  

His work has included both two and three dimensional projects for architectural signage, package and product development and image and identity design for major corporations throughout the world. Over fifty years of professional experience involved work for cultural, historical, educational, religious, and municipal institutions as well as for the commercial and private industry sector. 

Mr. Brod's academic and professional work was featured in numerous national and international publications and journals. He had received many awards from professional organizations and his work is Included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and the Cincinnati Art Museum. His art work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, including Israel, Germany, Russia, and traveling exhibitions throughout the United States. Mr. Brod is listed in Who's Who in America and included in Who's Who "21st Century Edition of The Chronicle of Human Achievement" 

Stanford Brod graduated from the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. He was the recipient of an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts from the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
